I don't think C2C (consumer-to-consumer) PromptPay service will be launched on schedule. Thorough testing is required to ensure the money transfer service can function smoothly and securely to build up consumer confidence in the system. Predee Daochai, chairman of the TBA, said over 14 million of 40 million total bank accounts signed up for PromptPay service since pre-registration kicked off in early July. The service allows people to transfer money using only the numbers of recipients' citizen ID cards or mobile phones instead of bank account numbers. The Finance Ministry recently estimated about 20 million people earn less than 100,000 baht a year, qualifying for the government's poverty welfare scheme.
